This video is a brief record of the Okinawa Kobudo International Seminar held on May 11, 2019, at the Aichi Association of Brazil (São Paulo). The event was given by Sensei Flavio Vicente de Souza (Okinawa Kobudo Jinbukai – Brazil branch), who taught tonfa techniques; and Kimihito Kirii (Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan – Tokyo/Japan branch), who taught nunchaku and sai techniques. In the opportunity I participated with my students Fabio Freitas and Sergio Costa.
Jinbukai is an organization of Karate Goju-Ryu and Kobudo founded in 1967 by Katsuyoshi Kanei, a student of Seikichi Toguchi, Seiko Higa, Shinpo Matayoshi and Shinken Taira. In Brazil, Sensei Flavio Vicente represents the Kobudo arm of Jinbukai, in addition to representing the Jyureikan school of Karate Shorin-Ryu.
Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan is an organization founded in 2012 by Hiroshi Akamine after leaving the management of Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai. It follows the lineage of Shinken Taira.
